La Derramadora Press

Somos una editorial independiente y completamente autogestiva. Aunque el espacio físico de La Derramadora Press se ubica en Rosarito, Baja California, La Derramadora, como espacio general, es un grupo de escritores, diseñadores y traductores que en conjunto colaboramos con autores de México y los Estados Unidos.

We are an independent, bi-lingual literary press. Although the physical space of La Derramadora Press is located in Rosarito, Baja California, La Derramadora, as general space, is a group of writers, designers and translators that work together in collaboration with authors from Mexico and the United States.

Trabajamos con materiales reciclados: papel, cartón, plástico, aluminio, madera, hierro, tela, etc; dándole al libro la importancia de todo su proceso: desde la creación intelectual hasta la manufactura, diseño y producción de la idea literaria. Es decir, procuramos que el libro (físico) esté integrado al texto que contiene; materiales tangibles que complementen y completen el material simulador de la literatura.

We work with recycled materials: paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum, wood, metal, fabric, etc; placing importance on each step of the book’s process: from the original conceptualization through the design, manufacturing, and production of the literary idea. That is to say that we believe that the (physical) book is integral to the text that it contains; tangible materials that complement and complete the material simulation of literature.

Uno de nuestros principales objetivos como editorial bilingüe, es dar a conocer la obra de autores estadounidenses en México y la de autores mexicanos en los Estados Unidos.

One of our main goals, as a bilingual literary press, is to make the work of American authors known in Mexico and that of Mexican authors known in the United States.

La idea del reciclaje como fénomeno cultural de conciencia ecológica pero también como concientización del ReUso de la ficción y lo táctil/idea y hecho/retórica e intuición. La reutilización como generador del prefijo TRANS, la reidea que transmigra la originalidad del moebius creativo y regenera y no sólo crea y recrea sino remueve límites textuales.

We consider the idea of recycling not only as a cultural phenomenon from a collective ecological conscience, but also as a way to create a consciousness around the reclamation of fiction, the tactile/idea, fact/rhetoric and intuition. Re-utilization functioning as a generator for the prefix TRANS, the re-idea that transmigrates the originality of the creative moebius and regenerates, not only creates and re-creates, but also removes textual limits.

Hacemos transLibros: cartones de leche que en realidad quieren ser poemarios; papel tapiz que desea cubrir las páginas de algún cuentario: nosotros, en La Derramadora, somos dicho cirujano.

We make transBooks: milk cartons that actually want to be a collection of poems; wallpaper that wants to cover the pages of a book of short stories: we, in La Derramadora Press, perform these surgeries.
